CARAL Tour
Thousands of years ago, in a time when Egypt flourished on the banks of the Nile, a similar culture in complexity began to emerge in Peru. Not until the mid-20th century were archaeologists led to the city of Caral, where they discovered the remains of what would turn out to be the most ancient known civilization in the Americas.
According to scientific evidence, Caral was inhabited between 2,627 and 2,100 years BCE. Interestingly enough, the remainder of the Americas' urban development did not begin until approximately 1550 years later.
